The IOHK teams have been updating the product every month since the launch of Shelley in July this year, notifying the community about what has been happened in previous weeks. Charles Hoskinson said in his last YouTube video that the regular update to the product will give more information about what is going on in the company but revealed that only days later another, bigger update will come. On December 10, which is the birthday of Ada Lovelace, the second upgrade will take place and serve as a retrospective at the end of the year. Apart from all the achievements of this year, Hoskineson thinks it would be shocking for the community to hear the “big announcements.”
November continued the trend of hiring at IOHK, Hoskinson says. The company also improved its partnership with Mutual Knowledge Networks and Runtime Verification. whose work on IELE will be discussed during the product update. Despite the country’s raging civil war, IOHks’ work in Ethiopia is progressing well. More news about the company’s plans for the developing country will be revealed at the end of the year update.
However, the biggest progress this month was made with hardware wallets. Hoskinson said that at the end of this month Cardano will have full hardware support. In the beginning of December, the Trezor hardware wallet firmware will be updated, while the Ledger firmware update will have to wait until mid-December or January, with new features and functionalities. In the first quarter of next year, he added, the partial delegation will be available shortly, noting more details about the firmware updates required for delegation and staking from cold wallets will be released soon.
